The 2026 Roadmap Summit
The 2026 Summit will convene leaders from across Canada, the United States, and Mexico to advance a shared vision for one of the world’s most expansive and productive grassland biomes. This gathering will bring together landowners and producers, Indigenous leaders, conservation practitioners, policymakers, industry, agencies, researchers, and funders committed to sustaining working grasslands and the communities that depend on them.

Why the 2026 Summit Matters
Grasslands underpin food systems, biodiversity, climate resilience, and rural economies across North America. Yet they face accelerating pressures from land conversion, climate extremes, invasive species, and fragmented policy and funding landscapes. Building on our previous Summits, and navigating a shared path forward for grasslands, that support healthy human communities, wildlife, and place. This year, we will focus on:
Strengthening cross-border collaboration to address shared ecological and economic challenges.
Elevating Indigenous and local leadership, particularly from Mexico, and honoring traditional ecological knowledge.
Advancing conservation and sustainable management strategies that keep grasslands intact by keeping ranching and land stewardship viable.
Aligning policy and funding priorities to scale durable, voluntary, landowner-led solutions.
Building community resilience through knowledge exchange, partnership development, and investment in people and place.
